Latin name: Helianthemum nummularium
Description: Common Rock-rose is widespread across England, southern and eastern Scotland and most of Wales, although it is largely absent from Ireland. It inhabits grassland and broken, rocky ground, favouring chalk and limestone areas. It often grows in dense clusters and produces bright yellow flowers, making it a favoured nectar source for many species of Bee. It is also the food plant of several butterfly species, including the Brown Argus, Green Hairstreak and the rare Silver-studded Blue butterfly.
Flowering time: May to September
Colour: Bright Yellow
Management: Rock-roses like full sunlight and dry soils. Major clumps of plants should be divided every three years.
Kindly be aware that as autumn approaches, our wildflower plants might be delivered in a state where they appear to have passed their peak. We strive to inform you about this at the time of your order. It is common for native plants to exhibit leaf blotches or have dead/brown leaves during specific times of the year; this is entirely natural. We assure you that we meticulously inspect the root condition, ensuring their robust health. Once planted, the plug plant will respond accordingly.
Please understand that owing to the perishable nature of our plug plants, the usual right to cancel does not apply.
