Description: The most common orchid in the UK, the Common spotted orchid frequents many different habitats including woodland, road verges, hedgerows, marshes and sand dunes. The name of this orchid comes from the dark, oval-shaped spots on the leaves.
Height: 14-40cm
Flowering time: June to August
Colour: Pale pink with purple streaks and spots.
Management: The common spotted-orchid prefers moist but well drained soil. It copes well in partial shade.
