Common Name: Marsh Marigold
Latin Name: Caltha palustris
Description: Also known as Kingcup, the Marsh marigold favours damp habitats, and is found in marshes, fens, ditches and wet woodland. It is a relatively early bloomer, attracting many insects with its large yellow flowers. Marsh marigolds are found throughout the UK and Ireland, although they are presently less common in the lowlands due to the draining and resowing of damp meadows.
