All our plants are native British wildflowers grown in Peat-free compost in our sustainable nursery.

Common Name: Red Campion

Latin Name: Silene dioica

Description: Red Campion is an attractive long lived native perennial. It is most often associated with lightly shaded woodland, in shingles and rocks, and found in hedgerows, tracks and rocky outcrops. Red Campion attracts bumblebees, butterflies and moths.

Flower Colour: Pink through light red

Flowering Times: June to August Plant

Height: 60-90cm

Management: Red Campion prefers damp, neutral or alkaline soils, but will cope with drier soils. It will not do well on waterlogged clay soils.
