Latin Name: Silene dioica
Description: As the bluebells begin to fade, so Red Campion begins to bloom. Red Campion is an attractive lived native perennial. It is most often associated with lightly shaded woodland, in shingles and rocks, and found in hedgerows, tracks and rocky outcrops. Red Campion attracts bumble bees, butterflies and moths.

Plant Height: 60cm-90cm
Management: Red Campion prefers damp, neutral or alkaline soils, but will cope with drier soils. It will not do well on waterlogged clay soils.
