Latin Name: Allium ursinum
Description: Wild garlic is found in woodlands across the UK, often in damp areas such as next to rivers and in damp hedge-banks. Some areas have seen a decline in numbers due to woodland clearance. The plant has a distinct garlic smell when the leaves are crushed and its leaves can be used for cooking.
Flowering Times: April to June
Flower Colour: White
Height: Plant stalk is 35-45cm
Management: Ramsons will thrive in shade, partial shade or areas near water. They don’t do well where sites are grazed or mown often.
