Latin name: Stellaria holostea

Description: One of the earliest of spring flowers, Greater Stitchwort produces large white flowers on slender stalks from April until June. It is common in hedgerows, woodland margins and woodland rides throughout much of the UK and Ireland, being scarcer only in northern Scotland and western Ireland.

Management: Greater Stitchwort has very brittle stems so care is need when managing the plant. It does best when planted in groups and in association with other plants.
